Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and related hardware/software.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
- Provide Tier 2+ technical support and training to county staff regarding software and hardware usage.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular backups to ensure data integrity.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols to comply with federal and state government standards.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party contractors to ensure system upgrades and repairs are executed efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or IT support roles.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting methodologies.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
