Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair municipal infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and public buildings
- Coordinate with engineering teams on capital improvement projects and safety compliance
- Manage work orders and prioritize maintenance schedules across multiple districts
- Utilize GIS mapping systems to document infrastructure conditions and track service requests
- Implement sustainable practices in maintenance operations to support Austin's climate action goals
- Train junior staff on safety protocols and equipment operation standards
- Prepare detailed reports on infrastructure conditions and improvement recommendations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3+ years of infrastructure maintenance experience
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Certification in Public Works Maintenance or related field preferred
- Proficiency with GIS software and CMMS maintenance management systems
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and inventory control
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and municipal regulations
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with contractors and community stakeholders
- Ability to work flexible hours including emergency response during severe weather
