Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of public infrastructure including roads, parks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., graders, backhoes) with precision and safety protocols
- Coordinate with engineering teams on municipal improvement projects
- Respond to public service requests within 24-hour SLA
- Maintain accurate digital records of maintenance activities
- Train junior staff on equipment operation and safety standards
- Participate in emergency response during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering preferred
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- 3+ years experience in public works or municipal infrastructure
- Certification in OSHA safety protocols (30-hour)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and maintenance software
- Valid Texas Water Operator License (TCEQ) preferred
- US citizenship or permanent residency required
