Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning duties on public streets, parks, and facilities.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including dump trucks, backhoes, and snow plows.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter storms to ensure public safety.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, debris, and equipment.
- Monitor work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and OSHA standards.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and service calls as directed.
- Perform routine inspections of public infrastructure and report necessary repairs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Massachusetts Class C Driver's License required; Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous labor, including lifting heavy objects and operating machinery for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
