Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including grounds maintenance, litter removal, and park upkeep
- Assist with construction and repair projects including road markings, signage installation, and drainage clearing
- Operate light machinery (mowers, trimmers, sweepers) following safety protocols
- Respond to weather emergencies including snow removal and storm debris cleanup
- Support community events through setup, breakdown, and crowd control activities
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and safety procedures
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools operation
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Residency in Virginia Beach preferred
