Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and installation of public infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, and traffic control devices.
- Maintain and clean public parks, landscaping, and irrigation systems to ensure high-quality community spaces.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, such as dump trucks, rollers, and loaders, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and assist in disaster recovery efforts during severe weather events.
- Inspect municipal facilities and grounds to identify potential hazards or areas requiring improvement.
- Assist in snow removal and ice control operations during winter months.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with city ordinances, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, landscaping, construction, or general maintenance preferred.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Strong commitment to public safety and customer service.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
