Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city facilities, parks, and infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency service requests during inclement weather or public events
- Conduct inspections to identify safety hazards and compliance issues
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and municipal safety regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Maryland driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years' experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g., forklift, dump truck) preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings/weekends as needed
- Pass background check and drug screening
