Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities, parks, and public infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, backhoes, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency public works situations (weather events, spills, etc.)
- Conduct safety inspections and report hazards immediately
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated service delivery
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Support environmental initiatives including waste reduction and recycling programs
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years municipal or public works maintenance experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Clear background check and drug screening required
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable
