Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance, repairs, and light construction tasks on public buildings, parks, and roadways.
- Assist with snow removal, leaf collection, and seasonal landscaping duties to ensure public safety and aesthetics.
- Operate and maintain a variety of heavy and light equipment, including dump trucks, lawn mowers, and jackhammers.
- Inspect public infrastructure for damage or wear and report findings to supervisors for repair.
- Respond to emergency service calls and citizen inquiries regarding city services in a professional and timely manner.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, and municipal policies to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; vocational training in mechanics, construction, or landscaping is preferred.
- Valid Driverβs License with a satisfactory driving record required.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in extreme weather conditions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Strong commitment to customer service and public safety standards.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and physical agility test.
