Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and inspection of municipal infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, such as trucks, backhoes, and pavement breakers, following all safety protocols.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform preventative maintenance on public works vehicles and equipment.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents.
- Ensure all work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with OSHA safety standards.
- Collaborate with other city departments and contractors to coordinate large-scale projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; technical trade school certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Pass a background check and drug screening.
