Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of public streets, alleys, and right-of-ways, including litter removal and debris clearing.
- Operate and maintain light to medium equipment, including dump trucks, loaders, and sweepers.
- Execute snow and ice removal operations during winter months to ensure public safety and accessibility.
- Assist in park maintenance, including landscaping, graffiti removal, and facility upkeep.
- Respond to and resolve emergency public service requests from residents and city officials.
- Perform basic construction duties such as patching potholes, setting signs, and performing curb and gutter repair.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Valid Indiana Class C Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting 50+ lbs, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
- Basic knowledge of construction and maintenance equipment operations is preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors.
