We are currently hiring a Municipal Public Works Technician to support our infrastructure maintenance and utility operations. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including backhoes, dump trucks, and front-end loaders.
- Perform excavation, trenching, and pipe laying for water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
- Conduct street maintenance, including pothole repair, patching, and debris removal.
- Inspect and repair public infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related infrastructure issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while working on job sites.
- Collaborate with other city departments to coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid Oklahoma Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical repair is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
