Responsibilities
- Operate heavy sanitation equipment, including packers and trucks, safely and efficiently.
- Collect and empty waste containers along designated routes in residential and commercial areas.
- Inspect and perform routine maintenance on collection vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations regarding waste disposal.
- Communicate professionally with residents and city officials regarding service inquiries.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during adverse weather conditions.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately to supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Class D Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50+ lbs) repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on maintenance tasks.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
