Responsibilities
- Process retirement applications and pension disbursements with 100% accuracy
- Manage member records and eligibility verifications in compliance with ERISA regulations
- Conduct benefit calculations and provide retirement counseling to plan participants
- Prepare quarterly financial reports for pension board review
- Coordinate with external auditors and investment partners during annual audits
- Assist in developing policy updates for pension plan governance
- Respond to member inquiries regarding retirement benefits and plan provisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or retirement benefits experience
- Proficiency with pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 401(a) regulations, and Texas pension laws
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Valid Texas Notary Public commission (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work 25-30 hours weekly with flexible scheduling options
