Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on public facilities and green spaces including parks, sidewalks, and street lighting
- Operate municipal equipment safely (e.g., mowers, snow plows, utility vehicles)
- Respond to citizen service requests for infrastructure repairs and concerns
- Assist in stormwater management and flood prevention projects
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training preferred
- Valid Missouri driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience operating heavy machinery or willingness to complete certification
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of public works safety protocols
- Strong communication skills for interacting with residents and team members
