Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and light equipment, including dump trucks, front-end loaders, and street sweepers, to maintain roadways and infrastructure.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal vehicles and equipment as directed by supervisors.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Inspect public areas for debris, potholes, and maintenance needs, reporting issues immediately to the central dispatch.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines while on duty.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of public servants to deliver high-quality municipal services efficiently.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training provided.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to public service, community safety, and operational excellence.
- Basic knowledge of construction or road maintenance equipment is a plus.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
