Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance of public parks, sidewalks, and recreational facilities
- Operate light machinery and hand tools for landscaping and debris removal
- Assist with stormwater drainage system inspections and minor repairs
- Support emergency response efforts during severe weather events
- Conduct daily safety inspections of assigned municipal zones
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for coordinated service delivery
- Complete accurate maintenance logs and incident reports
- Adhere to all OSHA and municipal safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of landscaping equipment and maintenance procedures
- Strong work ethic and punctuality with reliable transportation
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and flexible schedule
- Previous municipal or public works experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
