Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment for street maintenance, park upkeep, and construction projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public facilities, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and municipal regulations
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Respond to emergency weather-related maintenance requests
- Document work activities and maintain accurate equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Massachusetts Class B driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works, construction, or related field
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of heavy machinery operation
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
