Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency repairs during storms or natural disasters
- Coordinate with contractors and city departments for infrastructure projects
- Conduct field inspections and document maintenance activities
- Support community outreach initiatives related to public works programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or construction maintenance
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in outdoor environments
- Basic proficiency in GIS mapping or CAD software
- Strong communication skills with ability to interact with diverse communities
