Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of city infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy machinery and utility vehicles, such as dump trucks, backhoes, and street sweepers, safely and efficiently.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Maintain and clean public parks, facilities, and right-of-way areas to preserve the city's aesthetic appeal.
- Respond to public inquiries and service requests regarding municipal services in a professional and courteous manner.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and OSHA guidelines while performing manual labor tasks.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of city staff to achieve departmental goals and operational targets.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, standing, and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment and safety protocols is preferred but not required.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen as part of the hiring process.
- Strong commitment to public service and civic responsibility.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime if necessary.
