Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, excavators) for infrastructure maintenance
- Perform manual labor including trench digging, pipe installation, and debris removal
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report hazards
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on stormwater management projects
- Respond to emergency public works calls during inclement weather
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction/maintenance labor
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or GIS mapping systems preferred
- Successful background check and drug screening
- Austin residency required within 90 days of hire
