Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of public parks, streets, and facilities including landscaping, waste removal, and minor repairs
- Operate municipal equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., trucks, mowers, hand tools)
- Respond to emergency service requests during inclement weather or public events
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure projects
- Conduct regular safety inspections of assigned zones
- Assist in disaster preparedness and response initiatives
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of urban infrastructure systems preferred
- Strong communication skills for public interaction
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
