Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, excavators, and snow removal equipment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Respond to emergency weather-related incidents (snow removal, flooding)
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain equipment maintenance logs
- Participate in community beautification initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or higher
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction, maintenance, or related field
- Certification in equipment operation preferred (excavator, backhoe, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of MS Office and digital reporting systems
