Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic, system performance, and security alerts 24/7 to ensure high availability of state services.
- Respond to and resolve critical incidents and service tickets escalated from the Help Desk during off-hours.
- Perform routine maintenance, patch management, and configuration updates on servers and network devices.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and system changes in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Conduct nightly audits and verify data integrity across distributed systems.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to hand over critical issues and ensure seamless operational continuity.
- Assist in the implementation of new network protocols and disaster recovery procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in network operations, systems administration, or IT support.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Splunk) is highly preferred.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting status updates.
