Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise inmate activities during overnight shifts to ensure facility security and compliance with regulations
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and respond to security breaches with appropriate protocols
- Document incidents, inmate behavior, and facility operations in detailed daily reports
- Implement emergency response procedures for medical incidents, disturbances, or security threats
- Collaborate with day-shift personnel for seamless transition of critical information
- Utilize surveillance systems and access control technologies to maintain perimeter integrity
- Participate in ongoing training programs to maintain certification and operational readiness
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- Strong communication skills with ability to de-escalate tense situations
- Experience in security, law enforcement, or corrections highly valued
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments under pressure
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays as required
