Responsibilities
- Answer emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Operate radio systems to coordinate field units and dispatch appropriate resources
- Enter and update information in CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) systems
- Remain calm under pressure while providing clear instructions during emergencies
- Document call details and maintain accurate logs of all communications
- Collaborate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Adhere to all department protocols and confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (typing test required)
- Clear criminal background check and drug screen
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
- Pass psychological evaluation and background investigation
