Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and conduct regular security patrols during overnight hours
- Enforce facility rules and respond to emergencies with de-escalation techniques
- Perform headcounts and maintain accurate documentation of all incidents
- Operate security systems including surveillance equipment and control room monitors
- Escort inmates within the facility and during transfers as required
- Collaborate with day-shift staff for seamless operations and incident reporting
- Participate in mandatory training programs to maintain certification standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Basic First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- No felony convictions
