Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and analyze suspicious items following TSA protocols
- Operate walk-through metal detectors and explosive detection equipment
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for compliance with security regulations
- Respond to security incidents with calm professionalism and escalate appropriately
- Maintain accurate records of security activities and passenger interactions
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening Clearance
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
