Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and conduct regular security checks during overnight shifts
- Enforce facility rules and respond to emergencies with de-escalation techniques
- Perform headcounts and maintain accurate documentation of all incidents
- Operate security systems including control panels and surveillance equipment
- Transport inmates between facilities as required
- Collaborate with day shift staff to ensure seamless operations
- Complete detailed incident reports and administrative paperwork
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid New York State Driver's License
- Ability to pass background check and physical fitness assessment
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer literacy for report documentation
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
