Responsibilities
- Monitor and supervise incarcerated individuals during overnight hours ensuring facility security protocols
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to maintain order and prevent contraband
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with de-escalation techniques
- Document all incidents, observations, and facility operations in compliance with state regulations
- Collaborate with day shift staff for seamless transition and information sharing
- Maintain accurate logs and reports for administrative review
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Must be U.S. citizen and Massachusetts resident
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Successfully complete 12-week correctional officer training academy
- Physical fitness certification (able to lift 50+ lbs and run 1.5 miles)
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
