Apex Federal Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Night Shift IT Specialist to support our federal client in Seattle, WA. Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot complex federal network infrastructure during the night shift to ensure 99.9% system uptime.
- Perform routine security patching, system updates, and configuration changes on Windows and Linux servers.
- Respond to and resolve critical help desk tickets and service requests submitted by federal staff during off-hours.
- Conduct nightly vulnerability assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with DIACAP and NIST standards.
- Document all system changes, incidents, and resolutions in the ServiceNow ticketing system.
- Collaborate with the day-shift team and federal stakeholders to communicate system status and upcoming maintenance windows.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or network engineering.
- Experience working in a 24/7 operations center or night shift environment.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent military experience.
