Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor government networks and server systems 24/7 to ensure maximum uptime and operational security.
- Perform Level 2 and Level 3 technical troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Execute routine system maintenance, patch management, and security updates during off-peak hours.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and system configurations in the IT Service Management (ITSM) database.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams via communication channels to escalate and resolve critical outages.
- Adhere to strict federal security protocols and compliance standards (NIST, FISMA).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support or network administration within a government or defense contractor environment.
- Ability to work the night shift (e.g., 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM or similar) on a rotating schedule.
- Active Secret Clearance or willingness to undergo a government background investigation.
- Proficiency with monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
