Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support and troubleshooting for staff accessing government systems during night shifts.
- Monitor server performance and network traffic to ensure 24/7 availability of critical services.
- Respond to and resolve security alerts and incidents in line with UK Cyber Security standards.
- Perform routine system maintenance, backups, and patching during off-peak hours to minimize disruption.
- Document technical issues and resolutions in the incident management system.
- Collaborate with the day shift team to ensure seamless handover of operational status.
Qualifications
- GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in Maths and English.
- Experience in an IT support or helpdesk role, preferably within a public sector or large corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and network infrastructure.
- Understanding of ITIL framework and incident management processes.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during unsocial hours.
- Enhanced DBS Check clearance or willingness to undergo one.
