Responsibilities
- Monitor Infrastructure: Continuously monitor server health, network traffic, and system alerts during night operations to ensure minimal downtime.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Provide Level 2/3 support for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for state employees.
- Data Integrity: Perform automated system backups, data restoration, and database maintenance to preserve sensitive government records.
- Security Compliance: Enforce security protocols, patch management, and access control checks to protect state assets from cyber threats.
- Incident Management: Document and resolve incidents in the state ticketing system (ServiceNow) with a focus on speed and accuracy.
- Hardware Support: Assist in the deployment, repair, and configuration of workstations and peripherals across state facilities.
- Vendor Liaison: Coordinate with external IT vendors for emergency support during the night shift when internal teams are offline.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; OR a High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant IT experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT support, help desk, or network administration.
- Shift Availability: Must be willing and able to work the night shift (5:00 PM – 2:00 AM) on a rotating schedule.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and common office software (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certification is highly preferred.
