Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to state employees via phone, email, and remote desktop during the evening and night shift.
- Monitor and troubleshoot critical server alerts and system performance issues to ensure 24/7 operational continuity.
- Resolve hardware and software issues for workstations, printers, and network connectivity.
- Perform scheduled system backups, patch management, and security updates during low-traffic hours.
- Document all technical incidents and resolutions in the Service Management system (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to escalate complex issues and ensure seamless handovers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure workspace in compliance with state security protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: An Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, OR a combination of education and relevant experience totaling 48 semester units.
- Experience: At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, help desk, or system administration.
- Night Shift Requirement: Must be available to work the designated night shift schedule (e.g., 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification is highly preferred.
