Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance systems and patrol assigned government facilities to prevent unauthorized access and security breaches
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations with coordinated crisis management protocols
- Conduct thorough security inspections of buildings, perimeters, and access points
- Maintain detailed incident reports and security documentation using digital systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during emergency response scenarios
- Enforce facility regulations and conduct visitor screening procedures
- Operate security equipment including biometric scanners, metal detectors, and communication devices
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Class D Security Officer License (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum 2 years security/law enforcement experience with government or high-security environments
- Ability to obtain government security clearance (background check required)
- Proficient in CCTV monitoring and alarm response systems
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for reporting and coordination
- Physical ability to stand/walk 8+ hours, operate in low-light conditions, and respond to emergencies
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
- Spanish language skills highly desirable for Miami's diverse community
