Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility protocols during overnight shifts
- Conduct regular security rounds and headcounts to maintain safety standards
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Document all security incidents and operational reports accurately
- Operate security systems including CCTV, alarms, and control room equipment
- Transport inmates within secure parameters as required
- Collaborate with day shift staff for seamless operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- T Peace Officer License or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and drug screening
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- Physical ability to restrain individuals and work in high-stress environments
- Basic computer skills for report documentation
- Spanish bilingual preferred but not required
