Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain park facilities, playgrounds, sports courts, and irrigation systems
- Implement seasonal landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, and pest control
- Lead youth and adult recreation programs including sports leagues, arts & crafts, and fitness classes
- Enforce park safety protocols and conduct routine facility inspections
- Coordinate volunteer groups and community events (festivals, tournaments, outdoor concerts)
- Assist in emergency response during extreme weather or park incidents
- Maintain accurate records of facility usage, maintenance logs, and program attendance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in recreation management preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in park maintenance or recreation program coordination
- CPR/First Aid certification and Texas Class C Driver's License required
- Proficiency in irrigation system operation and basic equipment maintenance
- Strong conflict resolution and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills highly valued
- Valid Texas Pesticide Applicator License preferred
