Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of parks, trails, athletic fields, and playgrounds including landscaping, irrigation checks, and equipment upkeep
- Safely operate maintenance machinery such as mowers, trimmers, and hand tools
- Assist in organizing and supervising recreational programs, sports leagues, and community events
- Conduct facility inspections and report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions
- Provide excellent customer service to park visitors, answering inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Support special events setup/breakdown including tents, stages, and activity zones
- Maintain clean and safe environments by following city protocols for waste disposal and hazard control
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of parks, groundskeeping, or recreation experience preferred
- Valid Nevada driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds, perform physical labor in varying weather conditions, and stand/walk for extended periods
- Basic knowledge of landscaping tools, irrigation systems, and safety procedures
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse community members
- Availability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Experience with event coordination or recreational program support is a plus
