Responsibilities
- Event Coordination: Assist in planning, promoting, and executing community events, festivals, and public meetings.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional support to residents, businesses, and visitors at the City Hall front desk or community centers.
- Administrative Support: Manage data entry, maintain accurate records, and prepare correspondence and reports.
- Community Outreach: Distribute informational materials and engage with diverse community groups to promote City programs.
- Facility Management: Oversee the upkeep of public spaces and assist in facility bookings and scheduling.
- Research Assistance: Conduct research on city ordinances and provide summaries to staff and the public.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, administrative support, or government operations.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with database management systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals from all backgrounds.
- Availability: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as required by departmental needs.
- Driver’s License: A valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for this position.
