Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret federal healthcare datasets using SQL, SAS, and R to identify trends affecting veteran services
- Develop automated reporting dashboards in Power BI/Tableau for VA leadership review
- Ensure compliance with federal data governance standards (FISMA, HIPAA) and documentation protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design data-driven solutions for veteran care optimization
- Prepare quarterly performance metrics for VA regional headquarters in Sacramento
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses for special projects related to veteran access and outcomes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Public Administration, or related field
- 2+ years experience with federal healthcare datasets (VA, CMS, or DoD preferred)
- Proficiency in SQL, SAS, and R with strong statistical modeling skills
- Familiarity with federal reporting requirements and compliance frameworks
- Power BI/Tableau certification or demonstrable dashboard development experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
- Strong written communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
