Role Overview:
As a Pension Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert on federal retirement systems. You will assist federal employees in navigating complex pension plans, ensuring accurate processing of claims, and providing exceptional service regarding their retirement readiness.
Responsibilities
- Process and review federal pension plan applications and retirement claims with high accuracy.
- Provide detailed guidance to part-time and full-time federal employees regarding pension eligibility and vesting.
- Update and maintain employee records related to pension contributions and benefit calculations.
- Conduct research on current federal pension regulations and ensure compliance with OPM guidelines.
- Collaborate with HR teams to resolve complex benefit discrepancies.
- Assist in the administration of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS).
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Business, Finance, or Public Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in administrative support, customer service, or pension/benefits processing.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Background: Must be able to pass a standard background check and fingerprinting.
