You will ensure accurate processing of retirement applications, provide expert guidance on pension calculations, and maintain strict compliance with federal regulations.

Responsibilities
- Analyze and process federal pension benefit requests, ensuring all calculations are accurate and compliant with the Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS).
- Provide direct counseling to federal employees and retirees regarding eligibility, vesting, and pension payout options.
- Review and verify documentation for pension applications, including service records and survivor benefit claims.
- Prepare and maintain detailed case files and electronic records in accordance with OPM security standards.
- Collaborate with HR and Payroll departments to resolve discrepancies in retirement account balances.
- Stay updated on changes to federal retirement laws, regulations, and policy updates.
- Assist in the outreach and education efforts regarding pension planning for federal employees.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or a related financial services field.
- Strong understanding of the Federal Employees' Retirement System (FERS), CSRS, and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP).
- Associate degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a federal background investigation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and federal case management software.
