As a key member of our records management team, you'll ensure compliance with federal regulations while maintaining the integrity of veterans' confidential files. This hybrid role (20 hours/week) offers the perfect blend of remote and on-site work at our state-of-the-art facility.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize veterans' medical records in accordance with 38 CFR Part 16
- Process Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests within federal timelines
- Implement electronic records management systems per NARA guidelines
- Conduct periodic audits of veteran files for regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to update service-connected disabilities records
- Train staff on records security protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Generate quarterly reports on record accuracy and retention metrics
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Records Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years experience with federal records systems (e.g., VISTA, CHAMPVA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of 5 CFR Part 793 (federal records management)
- Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Excellent written communication skills for documentation purposes
- Detail-oriented with zero-error tolerance for veteran data
- Experience with FOIA request processing preferred
