Responsibilities
- Perform data collection, validation, and management for geospatial datasets using industry-standard software.
- Create, update, and maintain interactive maps and visualizations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the maintenance of the City’s GIS database and ensure data integrity across all platforms.
- Prepare technical reports, metadata, and documentation for GIS projects and deliverables.
- Collaborate with city departments to identify geospatial needs and provide technical support and solutions.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on spatial data layers and mapping products.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with GIS software, such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
- Strong understanding of spatial analysis principles and cartographic design best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity.
