Responsibilities
- Process Pension Claims: Accurately review, verify, and process incoming pension benefit applications and claims in accordance with state regulations.
- Retiree Support: Provide exceptional customer service and professional guidance to retirees regarding their pension inquiries, payments, and benefit statements.
- Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure all documentation and data entry maintain strict compliance with federal and state government pension guidelines.
- Record Management: Maintain confidential and organized digital and physical records, updating employee benefit databases with precision.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the HR and Finance departments to resolve complex benefit discrepancies and assist in internal audits.
- Reporting: Assist in the preparation and compilation of monthly and quarterly statistical reports related to pension payouts and employee status.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in government benefits, pension administration, or customer service is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with database management systems.
- Attributes: Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect errors in data entry and financial calculations.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Availability: Ability to commit to a consistent part-time schedule (e.g., 20-25 hours per week).
