Role Overview
As an IT Specialist, you will serve as a technical liaison between our office staff and technical support teams. You will ensure our internal databases, communication systems, and hardware meet the rigorous standards of state government operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues within the department.
- Maintain and update internal databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance with state privacy regulations.
- Assist in the configuration and maintenance of local area networks (LAN) and peripheral equipment.
- Prepare technical documentation and standard operating procedures for office staff.
- Conduct regular audits of computer systems to identify security vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage software licenses and hardware procurement.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, technical writing, or database administration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong understanding of basic networking concepts and hardware maintenance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screen as required for state employment.
