Responsibilities
- Manage pension plan enrollment processes and documentation for state employees
- Calculate and administer retirement benefits according to NC state regulations
- Respond to participant inquiries regarding pension plans, benefits, and eligibility
- Maintain accurate participant records and ensure compliance with ERISA and NC statutes
- Collaborate with HR departments on pension-related onboarding and offboarding
- Prepare quarterly reports for audit and regulatory review
- Assist in pension policy updates and procedural improvements
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in finance, business administration, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- 2+ years of pension administration or benefits experience
- Proficiency with pension software (e.g., Millennium, UltiPro) and MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of ERISA, NC General Statutes 147-1 et seq., and retirement regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Ability to work independently in a government compliance environment
