Responsibilities
- Process pension applications and retirement benefit calculations with precision
- Provide member education on retirement plans, contribution structures, and distribution options
- Maintain accurate pension records and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Collaborate with HR departments to coordinate retirement transitions for state employees
- Analyze pension data to identify trends and recommend process improvements
- Respond to member inquiries regarding retirement planning and benefits
- Assist in annual benefit statements and retirement projections
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years' experience in pension administration, benefits, or financial services
- Proficiency with Excel and database management systems
- Strong understanding of retirement plan regulations (ERISA, IRS codes)
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Georgia state government background preferred
- Valid Georgia driver's license required
