Responsibilities
- Process pension applications and retirement claims with 99.8% accuracy
- Provide comprehensive pension benefit consultations to government employees
- Maintain strict compliance with federal/state pension regulations (ERISA, VRS guidelines)
- Collaborate with payroll and HR departments to ensure seamless benefit transitions
- Prepare detailed pension statements and retirement projections
- Conduct periodic pension plan audits and documentation reviews
- Stay current with evolving pension legislation and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources (Bachelor's preferred)
- 2+ years of pension administration or benefits experience
- Proficiency with pension management software (e.g., Vantage, PeopleAdmin)
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS 415 limits, and Virginia Retirement System
- Exceptional attention to detail with numerical accuracy verification skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial data
- Valid Virginia driver's license (occasional travel to regional offices required)
